I think really the only thing that motivates people to work harder is money. More money. I really don't understand why more generic jobs don't have ideas in place to reward good work. Almost everything can be broken down into metrics and measured.
I wonder if I just stopped caring about people in general if I could land a sweet call center job at Time Warner. Do they offer free cable as a benefit?
Perhaps that's a small contributing factor to why the economy sucks, people don't work hard enough and they're not efficient.

I agree customer service is really bad. I just spent 4 hrs. and 5 cust. service reps later on the phone to find out I can't get a copy of my own incoming call's. They said I need to go to the payment store and just show my Id but they give me the wrong address. I finally get to the right store and they can't help me. They said they have to have a subpoena for me to get a copy of my phone call's do you believe it? They need to get their act together. I don't see any customer service here do you. I guess when they say bundle they really mean your screwed.
Your going to get no argument from me that Time Warner sucks. In fact, I'll go the extra mile and say that they suck like nothing has ever sucked before. Its funny that you talk about the Economy Ben, because the only other company that has shocked me as much with ineptness as timewarner is my good old cell phone carrier - Worldcom.
I can empathize with you Karen about Timewarner's customer service. You feel like your going insane.
I think I'm going to move so I can get a Dish :)
Some people take pride in their work and want to do the best they can, no matter who they work for or what they do.
